Chilifest: Is The Home Of The Best Chili West Of The Chesapeake.

CHILIfest is held on Superbowl Saturday –generally the last Saturday in January or first Saturday in February. CHILIfest is a food event in the style of the church homecoming dinners but with chili, cornbread, salad, coleslaw, guacamole, salsa and chips and a bake sale table. This Tex-Mex gourmet event features varieties of chili. In addition to the usual beef and beans, the menu has included spicy sausage, vegetarian pumpkin and black bean, white chili with chicken, white beans, cilantro and lime, venison and Cincinnati chili served over spaghetti.
CHILIfest takes place from 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. at the Parish Hall of Christ Church at 220 Owensville Road in West River. Quarts of chili-- together with cornbread-- are available as carry-out. A Silent Auction is planned for 2009.
Prices for 2009:

Adults $10 and children (age 4-12) $ 2.

Chili to go $8 per quart or 2 for $15. with cornbread
